I love The Eye! Lots of variety in crystals, jewelry, books, incense, and other spiritual aspects. The staff was very friendly as well. Prices are very good (tumbles shown were between $2-$5 each and the tower was $25, I believe).

It sounds crazy, but this place changed my life. Seriously. I was going back and forth trying to make a huge decision and I felt completely lost. I decided I needed a way to leave it up to the universe, so, I ditched my pros and cons list and booked an appointment for a psychic reading. When it was time for my appointment I was ushered into a back room to meet my tarot specialist and she was amazing. I can’t imagine a better introduction to tarot. When we started the reading I wasn’t sure how much information I wanted to provide about my situation (skeptic behavior). As the reading progressed I realized it was spot on about my energy and weirdly specific about timelines. Eventually, I remembered I was on a mission so I got serious, embraced the process, and decided to believe in whatever the reading was going to tell me. My tarot person spent extra time pulling cards specific to my situation and explaining them. She showed me two paths – and I chose. Since then I followed my path and the reading did not lie. It has been SO good. Thank you, tarot person!! I left Eye of Horus feeling like a new me. My advice is: if you’re new to tarot or palm reading or whatever – embrace the process and do it here. It might change your entire life. At the very least you can browse cool manifestation books or buy a crystal.

I got a tarot + palm reading from Brian and I’m very satisfied overall. He knows both of these arts well and explained the cards and lines to me on a level I could understand. The tarot reading was spot on in terms of what was on my mind and the palm reading was affirming of my nature, talents and potential. The readings were useful to both my short term decisions and long term goals. If you have never gotten a metaphysical reading, Eye of Horus is ideal because it is a reputable business. I always appreciate stores like this and like to support them when I travel. I stopped in to check it out the the last time I was visiting Minneapolis. It’s a small shop with an assortment of stones (mostly tumbled), figurines, incense, books, jewelry, sprays, oils, and tarot decks. They also seemed to have a reader on-site available for walk-ins.I found a variety of things I liked, including their Palo Santo/Cedar/Sage smudge spray which surprised me by how excellent of a blend it is. It’s something I would specifically stop to pick up in the store when I visit Minneapolis, or order to have it mailed to me. The customer service was pleasant but it seems their employees aren’t all on the same page. When I checked out, I was told about their discount program. It was explained to me that if I spent $250 (if I remember correctly) that I would get a gift certificate for $25 back. I was told I was within like $25 of that amount. I decided that I would try to come back before I left and see if I could pick something else out.I went back a couple days later when I realized I needed a gift for a friend and thought that the smudge spray would be a great option. I picked up a few more things as well. I thought I would be well over the amount.When I checked out the different sales person totaled it up and announced that was like $10 away from my reward. How is that possible, I asked? I’m buying like $50 worth of stuff? She explained that the maybe $40 of incense I purchased a couple of days before was not included in the frequent buyer program. When I told her that the other sales person did not say that and had included it in my total, she just apologized and shrugged.So, I had to buy more to get the gift certificate. I had spent over $250 in the store in like 48 hours and suddenly the incense was not included. That didn’t sit well with me. If this were my business, I’d have honored it on behalf of the employee who made the mistake.I’d go back to the store, but probably only for the spray.

As far as I’m concerned, this is the best place in the Twin Cities to get herbs and a sage stick. Although I don’t get here as often as I’d like, the trip to Minneapolis Uptown neighborhood are some of my favs, despite the area dramatically changing over the years. However, once a year I do a ritual cleaning of my house and make my way here to purchase safe and other delicious smelling herbs to cleanse and purify my creative art studio. I find the staff to be knowledgeable and informative. They answer questions with pretentious attitudes and make me feel safe to explore and ask questions. This is a great quality to have when your business is centered around ethereal and magikal practices. Nevertheless, I always learn something new and come out smelling refreshed from what ever incense they were burning. I love the diversity and the energy this store gives. It’s definitely a must explore spot in Uptown.

I really enjoyed this metaphysical store in the Lyn Lake neighborhood. The owner and employee were friendly and helpful without crowding my space. I found several beautiful crystals and some awesome van van oil. The van van oil was only $9.99! I purchased the same oil at a different shop for $45. They had a great selection of books and divination cards. Lots of candles, candle holders, incense and sage. Each crystal has a nice little educational print out that you can take along with you. There was someone there doing tarot readings in the back. They pretty much have everything. The vibe in the store was relaxing. I would definitely go back.

Wow was this experience amazing! I went to my first reading tonight and was blown away. My reader described my current life and past life spot on and explained future situations I will experience.She even called my ex-girlfriend by her name Jeni and explained the reasons why we split up and that she was not the one for me. I was a little bit skeptical before I went into the full deck reading but I have been drawn to this place for the last year and knew it was something I needed todo. So glad I did! My reading was on May 4th. I called Michelle on the phone midday, she had availability to give me a reading at that time. Michelle called me back after setting up, immediately told me about a deceased man around me that hasn’t fully transitioned. We focused on that during the call, she was able to deliver lots of information. Her style of reading is with tarot cards. It definitely was worth it and exactly what I needed. Thank you Michelle!

I always do a lot of research before consulting a new psychic. I gave Michelle two stars because she was a very nice person, had good energy, and wasn’t afraid to go a little over time to recap, but I left feeling unsure about my reading. She was accurate sometimes and she made quite a few generalizations. In order to blow me away, you need to mention little details that no one else knows about me. She was inaccurate a few times which is why I would be hesitant to schedule another appointment. Michelle allows you to record the reading which is really helpful, however, after reviewing the recording several times, I realized there were moments when I was stretching to validate something that wasn’t really true. I think the flow could have been improved a little as well. A lot of my reading consisted of question/answer format. I’m very glad that she answered all of my questions, but sometimes the reading would hit a temporary stand still if I ran out of them.

This visit fell under my “try as many things possible” list. I decided I would see what it was all about on one of my birthdays a few years back. I booked an appointment and received a confirmation time and headed out to her house.I have to agree with the other reviewer that mentioned that it was like sitting down with an old friend. It’s not like what you would think or see in a movie. No mystical crystal ball or magic. Kate was very nice, personable and offered some insight into some of my curiosities. Yes, she did use her deck of tarot cards, but not in a cheesy way.Her home/ space is very warm and she is very inviting. I’m not sure I personally would go again, but I would certainly recommend her to someone who wants to try it and see what its all about.She does have several workshops she does through out the year or did. I’m not sure she still does them.

I recently attended a Galentine’s Day party where Mellie Tarot was brought in to read cards. I had never had my cards read, as it wasn’t something I ever sought out. After hearing everyone else at the party rave about how great Alicia was, I decided to try it out. Alicia explained the whole process and was super friendly and not at all intimidating–I always assumed Tarot readers were intensely mystic, Professor Trelawney types. I was so pleased with my read that I’ve since had her do more and it’s so fun! The spread on my dating life included the death card which, interestingly, was a good thing. I’m addicted now and will definitely keep using her.

I had no idea what to expect with my reading. Stumbled upon Mellie Tarot at an East Nashville Market and figured why not? New promotion, some creative prospects what’s 2020 have to offer me? Mellie (pseudonym?) sat down and explained her take on tarot, which isn’t as much predicting the future or taking you yes or now, but more about guidance based on the cards pulled. Shuffling is easy, and then you sit back and there she goes. She let me pick my spread which resembled a pyramid–I won’t tell my question, as that’s personal, but will just say that I’ve got some things to consider but the spin is that it’s all good. Highly recommend, I’ll def reach out again for another session–she said we could meet over coffee or at a bar to do it to set an atmosphere– and I didn’t get the Death card, but asked about it… sounds a lot more optimistic than you’d thinks.Thanks Mellie!!

I have been experiencing this restlessness for some time. A co worker of mine talked about working with someone who reads tarot cards. I spent one Sunday night searching for someone. I was drawn to contact Tammy and I am so very glad that I did.She was right on the money with so many things. She commented that what the cards laid out and how I presented were very different. She is right. I have a tough exterior but what was going on internally was something very different. I was so impressed.There were things that she could not possibly know about me, things that I have not talked about in 10-15 years. I was impressed enough to move forward with other services with her. I have never considered a life coach before. After meeting with her and her deep understanding of my journey, I decided I needed more of her insights. I would recommend her 110%. You will not be disappointed.

My sister, mother and I have been searching for a place for awhile. We have enjoyed our previous experiences psychic experiences elsewhere, and we’re looking for one home in Minneapolis. So thankful we stumbled upon Sophia’s shop! They were so accommodating with their flexible schedule and their home makes it feel like you are home. my family and I thoroughly enjoyed Sophia and her sister, they understood our family bond. Would highly recommend anyone to come and enjoy their Sunday evenings here as well!

Such a sweet, large, old place to ramble about with friendly employees to help you with their mountains of knowledge. I went there for a Waite Tarot deck and they showed me several options and then when I later expressed the need for a book to explain how to read the cards, they found me the most popular one. As a former librarian. I can say: oh my goodness the books! Books on every topic of esoteric possible! UFOs, witches, runes, astrology, magick, you get the drift. They are priced at the manufacturers list price. Besides the books, there are pendulums, herbs, crystals, incense, all your typical New Age bookstore items. In “the time before”, they had lots of classes and they still have a large classroom for the future when we are free to assemble more easily. We found parking right in front of the store for free. Did I mention the employees were super friendly and knowledgeable? They’ve been around for thirty years, they know what they’re doing. Stop in!

Went there because I heard good reviews for kratom and was in desperate need. Soon as I got in the door I was bombarded by the tarot card reader striking up a conversation which was obviously for one reason and one reason only. To reel me in. I told her I do not need to lay cards out or talk to an operator to Spirit as we all can speak to Spirit directly. She backed off slightly after this but insisted on showing me her bag full of countless tarot decks. The kratom was unbelievably pricey as online I can find 250 g of Maeng Da for 29.99 free shipping and that’s without the discounts which they always have. They were selling it for 109.99 so over 3 and a half times as much and it was about half as weak as what I get online so I had to double the dose incessantly. They are obviously there to make a profit instead of helping people on that one. Right when I was about to leave my younger friend said he would like a tarot reading as she began trying to reel him in. Let me say, she did not give any indication that there was any type of payment necessary nor were there any signs indicating such. She gave him a full reading which lasted about 10-15 minutes and I have two others that can attest to that. He, being young and admittedly somewhat naive said something along the lines of I can’t believe this is free. She immediately threw a hissy fit, throwing her hands up in the air and making sure everyone heard exclaiming “You thought this was free?!” and made this huge deal out of it when this was obviously done on purpose. She was preying on a respectable young man that has more than enough issues in his life and did not deserve this treatment. He even was crying at one point yet she was relentless. I offered to pay and she was acting pissed off at us like we stole something. She claimed it was an entire 30 minutes and said it was 2 dollars a minute!!! So it ended up being a little over 65 dollars!!! I had already paid the cash register then on top of that someone came out from the back and as we were trying to leave told us “Hold up! Hold Up! Did they pay?!” Acting as if we were going to call the cops on us or something. Don’t go here. They will try to make a sucker of you too, so she can go buy yet another tarot deck frivolously with your hard earned cash. Now I see why in the bible it says that divination and card layers are an abomination. Needless to say we will never set foot in this store again and you shouldn’t either. They don’t care about helping you. They care about taking your money and that’s about it. Horrible experience I should’ve went somewhere else.

I was very excited to come to this store but their hours are not as advertised on here and google maps and they were still closed when I arrived. I can’t wait to revise my review next time I am in town and come when they are open. Definitely give them a call to make sure they’re open before you go.

I used to go to Magus regularly for my witchy needs when I lived in Minneapolis. Roger, the owner, was always so kind and helpful.I visited again recently. The first visit since they moved.The new (well, new to me) store is large and open, with lots of natural light. The gentleman working was very upbeat and friendly. The kind that brings out a smile in you.I was excited to see the majority of one wall was incense, most of which was Incense from India, a longtime favorite of mine that I actually first discovered in the old Magus store back in the early 90s. Since it’s actually difficult to find in stores, I was hoping they might still carry it. Seeing they did really warmed my nostalgic heart.They also have a nice assortment of metaphysical books and a good selection of lovely (mostly silver) jewelry, from talismans and sigils to fashion pieces with various semi-precious stones.My only complaint was that I wish they had more stones for ritual/healing work.I picked out several things (including lots of Incense from India) and had my eye on a stone container with a fossil embedded in it. I hesitated because it had been written on in permanent marker. The gentleman immediately apologized and offered me a discount, which I thought was very kind and professional. Glad to see you’re still around, Magus! Thanks for making me feel welcome and valued — as always!

Went in on a whim to pick up some goodies. This place is a staple, I’ve been a casual patron since I was really young and my mom would take me with her back in the day; first we’d go to Dream Dragon and then we’d go to Magus (I’m THAT old). The staff has always been friendly, knows their stuff, and has never pressured me into making any purchase or small talk. I love the new location (PARKING OMG). I can’t wait till they get all their herbs in. My only complaint is that it’s stuffy in there and all the oils, herbs, and incense hangs in the air without the possibility of escaping. I don’t know if they can open the doors for a draft or something but it’s gotta be rough on the staff and it’ll only get worse as the temps go up. Maybe they’re noseblind to it and it’s not bothersome, if that’s the case then never mind me, but if this is one of those situations where the only time the staff gets relief from something like this is for a customer to complain, then here ya go, guys.

They have a great selection of herbs and oils – I like to make incense and their products always burn very well! I have also bought a couple beautiful tarot decks here as well! Magus Books is a great shop that carries something for everybody! They have a unique selection of books on a variety of topics and beliefs, as well as candles, stones, and many other treasures. They also have a large selection of incense that varies from low-average price range. One of the best incense brands they carry always burns for about 2 hours or more for me and it’s all natural resin (no glues) which is a plus! I always feel very welcome going into Magus. The atmosphere in the store is warm and pleasant. They seem to really care about their customers and always offer help if I have questions. Every time I shop around in Magus, I find something new!
