I don’t know where to begin.This amazing human being has brought so much light and peace to this non stop brain of mine. Nervous of course but Kabir was nothing but good vibes and a welcoming energy He is honest and no BS with his answers. I was amaze with all the information he knew, it brought me to tears I honestly am so happy I crossed pathed with him and consider him part of my healing family. I can Genuinely say he uses his gift for the good, you can feel his passion to help people and his energy to help you and empower you is his goal. Even when he’s not well, you can feel his prayers. I don’t know why but Kabir seems to be blocking me since our last reading back in 2020? Three years ago?? He said he was sick and wasn’t really doing readings anymore but I still see reviews posted from 2022? I have left several messages and when I call every time it rings once and always goes right to voice mail? I have emailed him as well but still no response and have no idea what I did for him to totally ignore all my messages? Update: Good thing I’m not in California. I did not demand a candle. I simply inquired about them. I’m well aware of the law. He says he doesn’t remember old readings, but judging by this response he does. Any issue that I had was solved the very next day, & he said it wouldn’t be until mid July. So again, his predictions were wrong. He doesn’t want you to record for a reason. I had two sessions with him over the phone and they were completely different. I recorded the sessions, so I could compare. Nothing he said in the first session came true. The second session his predictions completely changed and he got caught in a lie. He resorted to providing “remedies” to run the time out instead of giving me my full reading. Overall it was a scam. Don’t waste your time or money.

I’m writing this review 3 years after my reading with Kabir. I felt called to write a review today! Kabir was very accurate on my reading and told me what area I need healing on and It has been a Journey since… I was happy with his reading and sent my boyfriend at the time to see him and he mentioned that if we manage our differences and remain in a relationship for 9 months the chances of us getting married is %90. I’ve been doing tarot readings with Kabir since 2018. I had the opportunity to see him in person before COVID and thankfully he does over the phone readings because I now live on the East Coast. After my first reading, I was really impressed with how accurate and he was with explaining what was happening in my life. He is very calm and patient with every reading! I referred my friend who was going through a very difficult time in her life and he was accurate with her reading as well. I am so grateful I came across his website 4 years ago. I’ve been to several tarot readers and he’s by far, the best. Not every tarot reading is going to play out the way at the time of the card reading because that’s what’s happening with the energy at the time of reading. Don’t waste your money! I, myself, am an empath/intuitive and the minute I walked in and met with him, I could feel his negative energy. His reading was so off in every aspect of my life. I have had the opportunity to consult with this gifted soul, Kabir a few times and this review is way overdue. His ability to decipher what is going on in your life and to be so accurate it blows my mind. I have consulted with psychics and/or spiritualist in the past but no one comes close to Kabir’s gifted abilities. He has guided me and given me peace in situations where I could have made wrong turns and/or decisions. He tends to get booked weeks in advance but he is definitely worth the wait.

I love that Kabir’s readings have always been so spot on for me. I’ve had an in person reading from him in 2018 and an on phone reading from him more recently and he always knew things that no one could have possibly known about me. The timing of when he said things would be around were also very accurate. I’ve recommended him to two other people aside from myself and they both felt the readings to be spot on as well. Wasn’t intending on writing a review as I was only looking up the name so I could find the phone number/hours of this shop. All that changed in an instant and it’s time I say something about this place I have only been in once or twice. Not sure if I avoid this place because I’m having trouble dealing with what occurred there, but it’s time to find out. One afternoon my bf & I were waiting outside Botanica Mama Roots for it to open. It was past 1:00 pm & the shop was supposed to be open but wasn’t so we decided to wait. Standing outside a young lady approached the door & we automatically thought she was there to open the store. But after looking inside and finding it closed she stood off to one side and waited like we’d been doing. I could feel her glancing at us but more specifically at me. To this day I remember my exact feelings that day and how quickly everything changed. Suddenly I became uneasy but not in a bad way, nervous and on-edge like I couldn’t wait any longer, I wanted the shop to open and not wait any longer. My bf had noticed the change in my behavior, asking if I was alright and saying maybe we should come back at a later time. No, let’s wait. We’re here & we’ve waited this long, let’s give it a little more time. That’s all I remember saying & thinking. For whatever reason I felt compelled to wait however long it took, definitely not my normal. Minutes passed, maybe 10 I’d say and the other woman waiting appeared to be getting ready to leave. She was writing what looked like a note & went towards the door, then turned & walked towards us. She explained she was the shop owners daughter in law & the owner was on the way as she’d just gotten off the phone with her. Thanking her for the info as she started to leave us I felt strangely aware of everything around me, like I wanted to follow in the direction she was leaving, but our car was parked right next to us. The best way to describe my feelings would be ‘should I stay or should I go’, song by The Clash. Without noticing this woman reappeared, saying she was a Reiki Master and had something to tell me that was very important. She asked if I knew what Reiki was, I didn’t and she didn’t take the time to explain. What she did say was that I had a significant health issue that if left unattended could easily kill me. WTF?!?! I’m healthier & happier than I’ve ever been, nothing stood out that could pose such concern. She went on to say we mask issues & although it might not be apparent on the outside, she saw a storm brewing on the inside of me. This woman rattled my cage! I was dumbfounded. She briefly explained that this was highly abnormal for her to confront someone out of the blue, not knowing them or being asked for a reading. Hell, I had zero clue what had just taken place. This all went down in under a minute and she was gone. Fast forward a month, I found myself in emergency surgery fighting for my life due to an infection that had started in my leg. What’s so bizarre about this is I never put two & two together, connecting what she’d said until the day my home health nurse said she’d never seen anyone heal so quickly….as if it was magic. I’m sorry if this story has gone on too long but I needed to recall & write it, why I don’t know. Now 7 years later I’m going to try & find this mystery lady again.

I have been going to mama root’s botanica for a little over 6 months and not only have I found items that took me there but also left with a few more that were not planned or budgeted. The folks that work there are super friendly… almost like your really nice coworker or wonderful next-door neighbor (Angel, Carol, Stephanie & Silas… those that I know). They are insightful, teach, educate, offer solicited personal advice and I always have difficulty tearing myself away to leave. I still have very high hopes of meeting or running into mama roots herself as I really would love to meet and know her. That’s how reputable the place is to me. I hope this place lasts for a very long time.PS: It’s really none of my business but with my total experience in the past 6 months frequenting that store 2 to 3 times each week and all the 5-star reviews I read, if “how are you” is what gives you sleepless nights then these people need more than a cleanse. Does the public bus driver or the gas filling station attendant ask everyone “how are you”? Do you not still go to those places? I am not the owner or staff of the place but I really do love the place so much that I felt the inclination to stick up for them. Not the best energy in here. The man working here had his pants down below his butt and had to pull them up when I walked in. Thankfully he was wearing boxers. But I did not want to see that. The person behind the counter charged my card, and then said there was an error and asked foe my card to charge it again. A red flag went off in my head, so I checked my bank account and the transaction had processed already. If I had given my card again, I was going to be charged a second time. Thankfully I showed them the transaction in my account and I didn’t have any issues leaving with the item I bought. Aside from this, the energy was just not positive in here. I jockey found the item I went in for a and left, and I feel like I need a good cleanse after that experience. I wish the best on this store, it’s customers, and it’s employees.

So as a longtime veteran of the service industry (luckily, I’ve moved on from that part of my life lol) I’ve learned to quite despise this route of reviewing as it’s generally just people who want to complain about the most ridiculous things. However, I know people generally use Yelp when looking for suggestions as far as where to find what they’re looking for, and for that reason I feel compelled to write this review.I LOVE this shop. I absolutely love it. As a practitioner of my craft as well as just someone generally interested in the esoteric, I’m always on the lookout for places to purchase my supplies and maybe even interact with others who share my beliefs and I’ve found that in Botanical Mama Roots! I’ve lived in several major cities on the West Coast and when I moved back to SD from Portland, I found my supplies pretty well depleted and in need of some serious re-upping. This shop had everything I needed and then some, plus I’ve quite enjoyed the conversation I’ve had with both the man working there as well as other customers on several occasions. Is a shop like this for *everyone?* well, if you’re going to call something bAd ViBeS just because it’s not your style or whatever, I guess not. But if you ARE looking for tools for your practice, a truly unique space, and even input/guidance/advice from someone who really knows their stuff, then this is 10/10.

Unfortunately second time here was not as good as the first. We got here around the time it opened, and was not greeted as we came in. No ‘how are you’…at no point was I asked if I needed help. Maybe I wasn’t being taken seriously, I don’t know. I got a couple items and left without much fanfare. I really enjoy coming to this place but being treated like that does not make me wish to return.

I’ve passed by this store so many times and my ancestors finally said “today is the day! It is your time! You can enter!” It was meant to be. I felt good and at ease as I walked in and explored. The store owner was so nice and helpful. I’ve been burning sage wrong this whole damn time and they gave me very helpful advice and recommended some items they have available. I plan to come back and shop again soon!

No one answers calls and I show up when the store is supposed to be open, no one is here. 1:15 pm on a Thursday. I messaged on Facebook saying “hi why isn’t the shop open right now?” And got a rude response saying “have some patients” (you mean patience?). What a waste of gas. Definitely will not ever shop here if this is how a business is ran.

I went to Bianaca at a time in my life where I was at a major cross road. She explained to me that she was a messenger/ interpreter for what the universe is trying to tell me. I never done a tarot reading before and I was stuck at some point in my life so I gave her a try after reading all the 5 star reviews on Yelp. I hoped that she would give me some sort of clarity and predictions of what was next. Unfortuntely, she did not deliver the service I was looking for. I met with her outside a cafe. She was wearing a big hat and buying herself a cup of tea. She explained how the reading would be done and I pulled some cards after that. The majority of cards were the Cups. Here was her explanation: I was struggling with some thing in my life. Oh yeah, that’s so obvious. Nobody would find a psychic if they are not struggling with some thing in their life. That’s also the only thing that she got right about me. She did not say anything else that had happened or was happening at the time. I asked a bunch of questions but her answer was SO vague and not going to the point.I have been waiting to see if I can validate anything she said but unfortunately nothing!I have been to many asian psychics and they were so spot on. One of them was so exact about me that I got goosebumps all over my body. But she is in Vietnam though. Compared to her reading, Bianca tarot was nothing at all.I am giving her 2 stars because she was nice. And that’s it. The reason why she got 5 star rating is because she offers people who rate her 5 stars a free follow up reading. That’s the trick!By the way, she did not sense that I am also a psychic. I don’t call myself a psychic, but I have many predictions that come true. I just forgot to tell her that her palm hints a sudden and deep decline in her health at age 43. If you want someone to listen to you and motivate you, go with her. Don’t go to her for any predictions because she won’t be able to give you one.

Glad I didn’t follow through with this appointment because she was very unprofessional. She dose not even have her own space to do readings I guess she dose them at a coffee shop. She also told me all her problems when I called to make an appointment about how she could not give me a reading at the requested time which didn’t seem like enough reason to turn a client away. Also sent a confirmation at almost midnight then next day FaceTimed me like 4 times. I don’t know have not had her services but this was just the experience before hand. Would recommend seeing someone else.

History: For the past 10 years I have owned and operated a small wellness practice in San Diego. About 9 years ago, something unexpected happened. During Reiki sessions I began to become aware of my clients’ loved ones in the Spirit World. I could give specific details, physical descriptions and messages and my clients knew exactly who the people were. I decided it was time to explore this potential gift as a Medium, if I even had it and what that meant. I sought out world famous medium James Van Praagh, mentored under him and became a Certified Advanced Medium. I have been blessed to study under teachers and mentors who are considered the greatest mediums of our time with a century of experience combined. My current Mentor is the brilliant, well known British Spiritual Medium, Andy Byng. I love to learn and stretch myself to be the best communicator for Spirit that I possibly can. I went to my first medium experience here after losing my father 11 years ago when I was 18. To be able to convey his very unique, goofy and quirky personality SO accurately brought back memories that I had forgotten. He has a sense of humor that is edgy and out there and isn’t something you can just guess. She brought up *very specific* topics I would journal about and not tell anyone, fears and hopes that only those on the other side would have heard me saying to them. I was even able to communicate with my dog. It was a life changing and incredibly healing experience with my mom. Joy is such a lovely person as well and explains the process in a way that helped me understand how this really works that I’ve never heard of before. I came into this thinking maybe nothing real would actually happen, that I would just have to pretend that he said nice things, and instead I came out the other side mind blown with what I experienced.Thank you Joy! This saved me years of therapy to hear what I needed to hear. I got an incredible amount of closure that I needed and got to reconnect to my mom in a very special way.

Joy is definitely a sweetheart, don’t get me wrong. She has a great energy about her – however, I can tell you with full confidence that she is not the real deal. During my session with her, she started making random assumptions about my profession. I could tell she was making it all up and basing her judgements on my reactions as opposed to her “intuition.” Not only that but she incorrectly guessed that one on of my relatives had passed on and kept going with it. At that point I wanted to walk out. Overall, I was disappointed by the “reading” I’ve had with her, and would not recommend anyone to see her. Although she is sweet and kind in nature and is empathetic, she unfortunately is not a great psychic.

My 1st time ever seeing a Medium/Psychic and I am sure glad I found Joy!..I was nervous but she made it feel welcoming….I really did not say much and Joy was picking up stuff like rapid fire and along the way I was super amazed and dumb founded how she was able to know certain details etc…She was even on a roll w/ info that our session went into OT and I appreciated that a lot…I left the session really amazed wouldn’t mind seeing Joy again in the near future!…

I wish there were enough words to express my gratitude to Joy. Early this month, I lost both of my uncles within a week of each other. I hadn’t seen either of them due to the pandemic and had lots of unresolved feelings. I have never seen a Psychic/Medium before so I was pretty nervous but I went into the session with no serious expectations and an open heart and I am so so glad I did. I did a combination of intuitive reading/coaching and mediumship. It is hard to put into words how unbelievably amazing my experience was with Joy. I have been going through hardship, failure, and just extreme uncertainty in my life. She touched on my family life, my interests, relationships, and how those affected my emotional wellbeing throughout my life. It was an experience that I will never forget. First of all, I was recommended to Talk with Kim, 24 years ago! From that first phone meeting, I Knew I would be talking to her for quite some years! Kim is a warm, kind person, who was right on with me so much of the time. What I Love about her is she does it the readings in a positive way. She will constructively show you a path to take & give you great knowledge of why. I’ve been seeing Kim for over 11 years for advice and her spiritual insight (usually during life transitions) . She has always been highly accurate in first describing my present circumstances, and then providing hope and crazy accurate predictions pertaining to what’s on the horizon for me. She is no-nonsense, but most importantly, she is kind and ethical. She’s a hit at parties, too! I hosted a witchy Fall party a couple years ago and hired her for the evening to give readings for party guests. Each guest loved her. My favorite anecdote from that night was revealed three weeks later when a guest shared that during her private reading, Kim predicted a new job on the near horizon for her. Since my friend wasn’t looking for a job and was happily employed at the time, she dismissed it. Turned out that an old colleague contacted her a week later and asked her to join his new biotech startup as a founding partner. She accepted, and then Kim’s prediction from the party came back to her. We were all stunned! Even when I see examples of accurate divination come true, it still surprises and delights me. I just realized that the review I wrote for Kim was over 10 years ago (!). Anyway I had seen her recently with a better mindset than when I first went to her back in 2011. The reading was great and Kim was really, really accurate with where I was in life and the people around me, even though I didn’t prompt her or ask her to look into them. She looked into my husband (whom she liked and described well! She’s actually the only reader I’ve met who knew right away I was in a committed relationship without my telling her), my work (the fact that I was juggling between two different bosses…very true), and a very horrible, abusive person from my past who recently moved into my area (won’t go into that one, but thankfully that person is out of my orbit). She even knew that I tried to warn people going into business with this person, which is something I haven’t told anyone close to me.I wish I wrote down what she had predicted for me back in 2011-12, but I do know that she was really accurate about reading my present energy and the energies around me and she helped me avoid certain paths that wouldn’t have been good for me long term. I remember at the time she told me that I probably shouldn’t pursue becoming a yoga teacher (despite practicing often and becoming physically strong) since I didn’t have the personality for it. At the time I was considering it because a lot of people thought I should and another reader had suggested that this was the career I was meant to be in. Thank god I didn’t become a yoga instructor because I love what I do and I’m good at it!Another thing I like about Kim is that not only is she kind and compassionate but she also lets me be angry without making me feel bad about it, lol. I’ve had other readers try to make me see the “good” in certain people who’ve wronged me in the past and say things like, “They didn’t know any better!” or “They’re hurting, too” or “That’s just how they are!” or some other sweet condescending nothings that make me feel worse or guiltier than I already feel. I’m in the camp where there’s nothing wrong with feeling mad because sometimes anger can help you let go! Look, I realize that you can’t hang on to anger forever, but I also recognize that you shouldn’t feel ashamed for your true feelings either. Acknowledge it, embrace it, and move on. This time I did write down the predictions she gave me as soon as I got home. I’m not sure whether they’ll come true or not, but I’ll be honest, I don’t put too much stock into predictions since I’d rather let things unfold the way they’re supposed to. Anyway, I still recommend Kim if you are looking for a great reader!

I just had my first ever tarot card reading with Kim and was blown away. Some friends and I had a girls night and she came to our house to give readings to 6 of us. She was friendly, on time, and easy to talk to. During my reading she called out many things about my past and future that really resonated with me. I’ve already seen one of her obscure predictions coming true. She really helped with some insecurities and concerns I’ve had about my future and I had a great experience overall. Psychics are never 100 percent accurate and good ones will tell you that. However, Kim has been 95% accurate in my readings. Getting settlement money to the number of figures (6 figures) and approximate dollar range (800K)! Timing was a little off but “free will” keeps things in a state of flux so timing is difficult to predict. She’s also friendly and enjoyable to talk to. What an awesome man! I met with him for reassurance that I’m on the right path in my life, and I found him to be a great listener and a very warm and compassionate human. Initially I had misgivings about seeing someone who uses tarot and stones, but those things turned out to be rather interesting and I had quite a moving experience with one of the cards I pulled.Beyond the techniques he employs, I think his greatest gift is to offer wise counsel to his client. He has made living in harmony with spirit his highest priority, and when he listens and speaks to you candidly and honestly from that place it is advice worth following. He gave me a wonderful message of hope and persistence.Thank you Tommie!PS: if you are not used to parking in Hillcrest, it seems to be all pay parking.

Words cannot express my gratitude for God pointing me to Tommie. He is extremely intelligent, practical, and has a true gift. Many gifts. I will always count him as a friend and a guide. I had always been a skeptic when it comes to the occult, but decided to take a leap of faith and do my first reading with Tommie a couple of years ago when I was feeling lost in life. Readings with Tommie are not about gazing into a crystal ball to see your future or pulling a rabbit out of a hat. His magic is helping you see more deeply into yourself in order to make the motions through life that honor your authentic self. His approach is compassionate, but expect to hear the truth from him even if it is painful! In my last reading, I drew a card that called out my need to make a huge and scary change in my life. Tommie helped me find the strength to take that difficult leap and since then, everything has seemed to fall into place. He’s not going to do the work for you, so don’t come in expecting him to fix your life. It’s about finding the tools within yourself to start your own repair and construction. I would recommend My Authentic Self to anyone ready to embark on a better relationship with themselves. Last Friday, my friend and I went to Tommie to discuss questions I had about a spiritual experience I had over the New Year holiday. While I won’t disclose details, I will say that Tommie is one of the most genuine, compassionate, intelligent readers I have been lucky enough to meet. Tommie is so great that I’m writing this review as soon as I got home after my reading. I’ve had quite a few readings done in the past and came to him for clarity around a situation. He made me feel at ease right away. Tommie used several methods to answer my questions: runes, stones, tarot and energy reading all within our session. I would totally recommend him to anyone in need of a reading that will tell it to you straight and not try to sell you on other things you might not need. I went to see Tommie for Reiki Healing and a Psychic Reading. It was a really pleasant experience. The reading was done with Stones and Tarot Cards and actually opened my eyes up to some confusion that is going on in my life. The healing session was relaxing and I truly felt some energy course through my body. It was my first time for both and i will definitely return. If you have ever thought about going to someone for these services, check out Tommie. He is kind, welcoming and has a nice set up at Happenstance.

I had such a pleasant experience in here. The shop is beautiful and very carefully-curated. It felt like everything in there was so intentional. There is a fabulous book selection and Diana, the owner, is awesome and answered all of our questions. Prices are very reasonable here as well. I will definitely be back. 🙂

Beautiful store with an extensive inventory for multiple practices. The place exudes calm, and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. Their patience in answering “newbie” questions was very much appreciated. Also an absolutely adorable cat that loves head scratches.

I have only had the pleasure of visiting the bookstore once but I love their celebration of the seasons and the many products they offer to enhance metaphysical practices. Came to this shop because on both yelp and google it stated that it was open. Drove to ocean beach which is difficult to get around only to find the shop closed. It’s understandable that small businesses like this will not be open during the pandemic. Out of kindness to potential/new customers the online information should be updated to state that it’s physical location is currently not open for walk in business.

I’ve shopped here several times and each time has been a positive experience. The store has a big variety of stones, crystals,books, candles ,herbs and so much much more . The owners are happy to assist you and answer questions for you which makes shopping here so easy and enjoyable. I also highly recommend the ceremonies and rituals as well . I have had the pleasure to attended a few of them now and will definitely be here participating for years to come . Each event I have attended I have come away with something new , these are very mindful events that I’ve learned much from . I always feel uplifted and a close connection to the community that also attends at the time of the ceremony. I can’t say enough positive things about this store .

I wanted to update my review to say that this is a great shop for metaphysical items and community. The classes and activities are really good for getting to know others, knowledgeable, and meaningful. The energy in the shop comfortable and definitely that of the OB spirit. Shop owner Diana is eager to assist with helping you find what you need to make your personal spiritual experience the best it can be. And then there is also Neil, the real owner of the shop, who will let you know that he runs the neighborhood as all black cats do. Thank you, Tree of Life, for a great place for community to gather.

I stopped in out curiosity and had saw their website on instagram and ventured in and was surprised by how beautiful the store was decorated and the customer service was amazing and very knowledgeable about the metaphysical aspects of the products. Before I met Art, I was avoidant of my own feelings and stuck in survival mode. I met Art through my older sister in 2016. I was very skeptical of the meeting since I had limited exposure or knowledge of this type of work.In our meeting, Art asked what I wanted to focus on and I didn’t want to say much since I was testing to see what this was about. I asked if he could do what he normally does since I didn’t know how it works.Art proceeded to tell me what he saw and felt energetically about me. Everything that came out of his mouth was too on point and I knew he was the real deal from that meeting. On this day, he gave me the gift of new perspective on how I viewed prosperity. This was huge because I was stuck in scarcity mode and it allowed me to work on releasing my limited beliefs.I thought I could avoid dealing with my feelings and keep on pushing through survival mode. When you’re in your early 20’s, you think you can do it all. However, the universe keeps coming back to you with the same lessons but worse until you truly learn the lesson. With Art’s guidance, I was able to not be as stuck as I would have been on my own. This is why I continue my practice with his guidance so that I can ensure I am accountable for my growth.When I hit rock bottom, Art gave me the support I needed. As painful as life can be, I am so grateful to have someone in my corner rooting for me or sitting with me when I don’t think I can do it anymore. The compassion and empathy Art has knows no bounds.Over time, I have grown to learn patience, practicality, and a greater understanding of myself through Art’s teachings. In addition, I am glad that Art’s methods (karmic disconnect, regressions, etc.) are not invasive and work quickly. I have always found what I needed from This shop here . The customer assistance you receive is so helpful and they are all so knowledgeable , it makes your shopping experience top notch . I come in to stock up on cards or crystals . I may purchase a piece of jewelry too , I have several original pieces that are very loved by me . This is also where I find myself coming year after to replenish incense, candles and so many other metaphysical necessities or tools . The healing , card reading or quick limpia they offer along with many other services are all so amazing . The guidance & knowledge I have received from Art and others that work here has been invaluable to me and I treasure it always. I love this store and all the beautiful souls in it. The main person I’ve been seeing for the past 6-7yrs is Arturo (psychic medium). When i first went to see Arturo, it was for a reading for my boyfriend. When we went in for the reading, Arturo was going to start reading for my boyfriend. Before he started, he looked at me and told me I have abilities. I asked him what they were, he stated, “You’ll find out soon enough,” and he then continued with his reading. Fast forward to November 2021, my boyfriend passed away, and I wanted to completely give up on life. Arturo not only was able to communicate with nate but also gave confirmation of things that he wouldn’t EVEN know. As time went on, those same abilities that arturo told me i have soon started to come to the surface. I’ve opened up and became aware of shifts that happen. Also, I’ve discovered that I’m a Clairvoyant and Claircognizant l then being one of Arturo’s classes. Between talking to Arturo, taking the classes and learning what I need to do to help with my healing. He helped me find one of my passions and because of his assistance and reassurance, I now make my own bodycare products. He is the BEST!!

This bookstore carries a history of being an inviting place to learn; to seek; to individuate. You walk into an aroma of incense that seems to cleanse & cue you into a receptive state. From there you follow your intuition; your guides; or sheer happenstance, whatever serves you, to a book or healer that resonates with you in some way. You will walk away from this store feeling pleasant, at the very least; maybe more knowing or clear in some aspect of your being. It certainly makes for a nice pause & respite from the busy-ness that prevails for many. I am so very thankful for local, independent bookstores. I am thankful for any locale that slows our grind & perpetuates individual growth. I am thankful for this store & all that it brings.

I am a little reluctant to write this review because I am afraid that this shop is going to get so busy that they won’t have time for me. First, the shop is so cute and thick with an assortment of special items. The decor and layout is really well done in my opinion. The real reason that I am writing this review is because of the tarot reader that is in residence there, Alyssa. She is AMAZING. At first I only booked 15 minutes because I was worried that the reader would be a hack. I have had a couple of unfortunate experiences but AS SOON AS I SAT DOWN I knew that she was legit. I was vibrating for a while even after I left. She has many different types of services. Book an appointment today.

I was really excited to visit this place since I went to the Controversial Bookstore, which is what it was called previously, about four years ago and had such a great experience with the staff and during an awesome reading I had done. I was really disappointed with my experience today. I got the impression from the store attendant that she had no real interest in helping me. Once she was done spending about 20 minutes helping a woman that was clearly buying a large class package of some sort and was probably spending a lot of money on it, her tone and demeanor seemed to completely change with me. I was looking for an oracle deck which she didn’t really make an effort to allow me to do comfortably since all the decks were behind the counter and she didn’t bring any of them down but only let me look at them from across the counter. I mentioned that I was looking for something that had “multicultural” representation since I knew that wasn’t very common and she then proceeded to agree that it’s not common and then remained silent. This made me feel pretty uncomfortable so I proceeded to just Google information about the deck while she silently stood in front of the cash register making no further effort to communicate. Overall this experience was upsetting since it felt somewhat discriminatory. Moving forward, I hope that this business and staff are more aware of the affects of microagressions and lack of basic customer service skills. I won’t be going back.

I have had two readings with Hisa. One just before the new year and one about three years ago. Not only did she remember me, she remembered ABOUT me and what was in my life at the time. She is spot on and uncannily accurate. She mentioned currently happening events with me that I did not speak about and that was before the cards were dealt. She is amazing and I have two friends that already made appointments to visit her. Go in with an open mind and an idea of what you want to know and you will not be disappointed.

I was looking forward to a reading as I was seeking clarity and guidance. Her place was pretty easy to find and it was welcoming and inviting. She started the timer for 45mins. At first Hisa was spot on to where I currently was in my life and a certain relationship. We decided to dive deeper into the relationship and unfortunately that’s where things went down hill. I ended up having to provide her with more context about it and she dove really hard on what a relationship was and healthy boundaries, not what I was there for. She went on to tell me it all started with my ancestors and that was what was preventing me from having a healthy relationship. She wanted me to do a ritual which I was not comfortable with so I suggested an alternative. I wish my time would’ve been geared to what the cards were saying instead of her opinion. Overall I left there in the same spot without any clarity or guidance.

Hisa has a divine spirit. You can just feel it being around her. Using tarot, psychometry, and other intuitive gifts, she spoke about the essence of my soul in way that was validating and deeply meaningful. I appreciate that Hisa approaches her readings from a place of empowerment and self-development. Her wisdom feels sacred and her insight is incredibly accurate. Hisa was VERY spot on with my reading – she explained the situation clearly and described the people of interest in a very accurate way. There is no way that she could have known about the people/person in question, and she was able to offer guidance that really resonated with me.
